Persistent Vision of Home
Clear PVC plastic, cotton thread, 600 x 55cm
Migration of people is a process deeply ingrained in the human experience. The physical shift creates a disparity in perceptions of home and feelings of belonging. Experiencing a sense of physical and psychological homelessness amplifies the sensitivity to space and place experienced by the migrant. In this work, I reflect on my experience of migration. Each home I have ever occupied, sewn in PVC plastic and cotton thread is suspended as one complete sculpture.
